Privacy Policy

This policy covers the militarycalisthenicsworkout.com website and the Military Calisthenics Coach mobile app (together, "the Services"). The short version: the app keeps your training data on your device, we don't run accounts, and we collect as little as possible.

The controller responsible for the Services is Miguel Cepeda, Erismannstrasse 34, 8004 Zürich, Switzerland (see the Impressum).

Data the app stores on your device

Everything you enter in the app — onboarding answers (such as goals, fitness level and body measurements), workout completions, weight log, favorites and custom workouts — is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers; we don't operate any. Deleting the app deletes this data. There is no account and no sign-up.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier, your purchase history for this app and basic device information — never your name, email or payment details, which stay with Apple or Google. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.

On iOS, the app also shares Apple's ad attribution token with RevenueCat, so we can see which of our Apple Search Ads campaigns led to an install or purchase. This uses Apple's AdServices framework, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not require the tracking permission prompt.

Usage analytics in the app

To understand where the app can be improved — for example, at which onboarding step people stop, or which plan they choose — the app sends usage events to PostHog, hosted in the EU. These events record which screens you open, the plan options shown and chosen, and whether a purchase started, completed or was cancelled, together with basic device information (device model, operating system, app version, language). They are linked to the same anonymous app-generated identifier used for purchases.

The events never include your onboarding answers, body measurements, weight log or any other information you enter about yourself. The one exception is feedback: if you choose to send us a message from the app's feedback screen, the text you write is sent to PostHog with the same identifier, so we can read it. Please don't include personal details you don't want us to have. We don't use this data for advertising, and it is not shared with advertisers or used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the app. See the PostHog privacy policy.

Data the website processes

The website is a static site hosted on Netlify. Like most web hosts, Netlify keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, requested page, browser type) to operate and secure the service. The site runs no advertising.

To see which pages and links are useful, the website also sends usage events to PostHog, hosted in the EU: the pages you view, and taps on app store links, the Android request button, PDF downloads and print, with basic browser and device information. IP addresses are anonymised. Until you accept analytics cookies in the banner, nothing is stored on your device and visits are not linked together. If you accept, PostHog sets cookies and local storage so it can recognise a returning visitor and record anonymised session replays. You can change your choice at any time: cookie settings.

Third-party content

Some images in the Services are loaded from content delivery networks. When your device fetches them, the CDN sees your IP address, as with any web request.

Health data

Fitness inputs you provide (weight, measurements, workout activity) remain on your device as described above. The app does not read from or write to Apple Health / HealthKit or Google Fit.

Your safety and responsibility

The workouts, timers and programs in the Services are general fitness information, not medical advice. You decide whether, how and how hard you train, and you exercise at your own risk. If you get hurt or suffer any health problem while using the app or following content from this website, that is your own responsibility, and to the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for it. Check with a physician before starting, and stop right away if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. Liability that the law does not allow us to exclude (such as for intent or gross negligence) is unaffected. The full terms are in our Terms of Use.

Children

The Services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly process their data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the Swiss Data Protection Act and the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because your training data lives only on your device, you can exercise deletion at any time by resetting progress in the app or uninstalling it. For purchase data, you can also contact us and we will forward the request to RevenueCat.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged in the app or on this site.
